White. Light. Bright. What do you feel in the presence of white? We at homify feel bold, and hold that white may even be the top contender for 'most intrepid house colour' award. Seriously.

As you'll see today, white makes any home look sharp and audacious from the outside, so we decided that the white homes needed even more highlighting. From the large and traditional to the compact and modern, this here is a list that has one twist: the designs are all white, white, white!

1. The white tower house

This brownstone sure stands out because, well, it isn't brown. Designers decided to tear down neighbourhood conventions, making not only the outside but also the inside, mostly white. And it was a great choice, by the looks of it.

Look how picturesque this how is, contrasting dramatically with the dark brown and green foliage. Perhaps traditional Northern brownstones have discovered a change of pace in this white tower house?

Dining outside

The backyard of this home features an all white, cube-shaped dining booth, completely encompassed by sheer glass, so you're nearly dining outside.

2. The cube house

This is the only white cube house on the block, and its dimensions are pretty unique as well. Split into three levels, the top level boasts a proportionally quite large balcony with an overhang in white with three mini skylights.

Instead of a solid white splash though, the outer facade has been covered with thickish vertical white panels, for an altogether interesting white look.

Cube house living room and staircase

Look at that staircase and the clear glass and white entrance. Very venturesome!

3. Energy efficient white

This white house looks a bit like a lopsided face, with two different sized eyes (the windows) and a straight lipped mouth (the green terrace).

What is really great, besides the colour of course, is that the slanted, double roof is totally covered with solar panels, making this home the most energy efficient one on our list.

White bedroom

An all-white boudoir always feels fresh and cheerful, even at night.

4. Mansion minster

Here we have a classic white mansion with a heavy redwood door. Made of stone and complete with Duric columns around the front entrance and garage, this one's a white classic.

A definitive kitchen

The kitchen of Mansion Minster reeks of modern classic white design – check out the hanging box light that doubles as a cupboard!

5. A classically American white home

Wholesome in white, this American classic home design really is at its best in white, which makes its dark-tinted square patterned windows, charcoal door and shudders pop and shine. Simple white columns buttress the overhang above the front porch and white gutters line the soft grey rooftop. Is the family looking for a new home? This might be the one.

Half-wrap-around deck

The large side deck of pristine white columns and fence is a place you can really get cosy in on a cool summer evening, listening to the sounds of the surrounding forest.

6. Modern white

A chunk of modern white stone set in the forest, atop a hill with no adornment to speak of save the gorgeous straight lines of its roof, the sharp corners and crevices of its window and door frames and, of course, its prepossessing outer colour.

Open views, open rooms

The use of white and glass inside make the views of nature outside all the more breathtaking.

7. White minimalism

This design is a bit on the brutalist side, but in white, we could also just call it minimalist

From the outside, the top floor and the right-hand side of the house form a chunky, horizontal L-shape and white granite stripes run horizontally along the lower floor, which is set a bit back from the upper portion of the home in what seems a spot on modular design, immaculate in white.

The backside facade

The back features a pool and a master bedroom hanging over the back grey patio. Brutalist carvings form a dominate row on the main module of the house, width-wise.

8. Country aesthetics

Spotless in white stone with a brown scalloped rooftop, this Portuguese country house draws upon all of the principles of Portuguese design tradition: small windows to keep away the hot sunlight and blank, bright white outer walls that mark out the abode amongst the rolling ragged brown and green hills of the countryside.

White, wood and cosy

Inside the country house, everything is white save for the natural, knotty wood accents and furniture.

9. White shabby chic

Here is a gem of Asian design, also unique because white is its modus operandi inside and out. Style is marked by the sloped roofs and the geometric sections into which the house has been divided, visible from the outside.

The outer walls themselves are of a smooth, less grainy stone, splashed a clean white the reflects the sun, making the house the gleaming little dot among the dark spots on its street.

White tiles and a view

Inside, white again refreshes and soothes, particularly in the bathroom, tiled entirely with white ceramic tiles and white tub. With all of the white we've seen today, how can you not take a bit of a white cue on our next remodel adventure?
