Marco Braghiroli, an Italian architect from Milan, is the founder and managing director of Prestige Architects Ltd, who is our expert team in charge of today’s homify 360° discovery.

Based in London, Prestige works with clients throughout the UK and abroad, creating eye-catching, comfortable and bespoke living spaces based on clients’ unique requirements. Founder Marco has played a major role in the creation of various private London residential spaces and English country estates, but has also designed numerous homes in Greece, Monte Carlo, Italy, as well as the Caribbean.

Today’s expert piece – a Chelsea House – is a grade II listed building that required a full refurbishment to transform it back into a single dwelling. Part of an elegant terrace of 10 houses, this property was first laid out more than a century ago (back in 1845) and completed and largely occupied three years later.

Let’s be inspired by this 220 m² creation.

A garden view

In order to present a more comfortable residence for their Italian client, Prestige took charge of this refurbishment project. In the end, no less than three bedrooms and five bathrooms were included in the final result.

Here, a living room with a working desk enjoys a garden view and comfortable privacy.

The living room

To enjoy a larger living space, the property’s lower ground-floor level underwent a full transformation. However, much of the existing features were highlighted and kept during the refurbishment due to the building’s listed status.

Here, the lower-ground living room enjoys a connection with the dining room and kitchen, ensuring a practical layout and continuous flow.

The heart of the home

Although a lot of care and attention was devoted to the finer details of this historical building, a certain amount of modern elegance was also ensured for the end product, ensuring it fits in perfectly with 21st century splendour. For instance, the kitchen, where fully equipped and bespoke modern joinery complement the more traditional touches of furnishings and certain décor.

An en-suite delight

For the master bedroom’s en-suite, mosaic works and Italian sanitaryware were chosen, flaunting a warm and inviting earthy colour palette with just enough texture and pattern to ensure the end results aren’t deemed boring.

The top-floor bedroom

We close off with the bedroom at the top floor, which ensures adequate amounts of incoming natural light via windows and a skylight. Although the main palette here is a mixture of soft neutrals and earthy tones, a touch of warmth is ensured via the patterned floor rug and cheery wall art.

Let’s enjoy a few more images that speak of this home’s fascinating new look.
