1. Switching off gas connection

4. Collapsible ladder

If you have a terrace or an open balcony, then you should always store a collapsible ladder in the area. These ladders can help you get away from the home in case of a sudden fire. You can ask your architect to create a storage place for it as well.


5. Incense and candles

In every Indian home, there is a lot of use of candles and incense. These usually burn throughout the day or while you are praying. However, you should make sure that these candles and incense are completely out before you leave the room.


6. Switching off electronics

Fire can be caused due to a number of reasons. One of them is overheating of electronic appliances. To avoid the situation you should switch off the power outlets once the appliance or electronic is not in use. Make sure that you have a minimum number of power outlets switched on, so that, there is no overheating caused.
